About Jovan & Thelma:

Jovan and Thelma have been performing throughout South Africa for the last 7 years after bowing out in 3rd place in the well-known Zing Competition.  The competition was launched to search for undiscovered duet performers and was hosted by a popular Afrikaans DSTV television channel, Kyknet, which attracted more than 350 000 entries.

After Zing the duet couple was signed by record label SMP (Snyman Music Productions) better known as
“Die Broers”. (Christo and Cobus/Nic Stevens)

Jovan and Thelma have shared the stage with well-known names such as Mynie Grove, Kurt Darren, Danie Niehaus, Die Broers, Steve Hofmeyr and many many more.

The duo has also achieved amazing individual goals with Jovan who played piano and sang on a television program called “Kyknet Country” in 2009. Shortly thereafter he was contacted to sing backing vocals for Juanita Du Plessis on her Platinum Show at Grand West Casino in front of 5 000 supporters.
Jovan is also the keyboardist on the new Broers DVD, 10 000 myl.

Thelma entered the South African Idols-competition in 2003 where she ended in the top 10. 
She also took first place in a well-known national gospel singing competition, Tehilah.

The duo was recently approached by SA Rugby to sing the French National Anthem on 12 June 2010 at Newlands where South Africa competed against France.  This event was viewed in front of a live audience of 45 000 supporters as well as broadcasted worldwide on live television for several million viewers.

  • Numerous functions for SARU (South African Rugby Union)
  • Numerous functions for Mercedes-Benz South Africa including launches such as the Mercedes M-class,

Mercedes S-class as well as performance at most of their end of year functions.

Jovan and Thelma are able to adapt to any event whether corporate events, festivals or to specification
depending on the requirements of their clients.
These specifications range from solo performances to a full live band in both English and Afrikaans.
All sound, lighting and technical requirements are supplied by the duo and their technical team.

The duo’s Afrikaans album (Rondomtalie Liefde) ads a fresh new sound to the South African Music Industry with 12 original songs and 1 song written by international performer, Steve Hofmeyr.
